These last few days I was playing with my 3d-app, when suddenly this idea popped into my head.:icon_idea

Wait for it….;)
Wait for it….

OK, so here it is……:p
Now, we all know that for every model a decent shrine is needed for worshipping purpose. Seeing as we’re a bunch of over-obsessive fans ourselves (ahum, you mean me?:icon_goog) we of course can’t let our San be without one. Being a man with modest financial means a real shrine is just not an option; otherwise I would definitely buy or make one. :icon_yes:But once again the virtual world comes to the rescue and offers an alternative.

Here’s the deal: I’ve made a very simple basic shrine for Sandra that contains some of the artwork that me and others have created over the last few months with the centerpiece being the extraordinary sketch done by the talented Stacia (yours was no longer available Crazy, maybe you can repost it…).
The idea is that everybody can contribute to the shrine by making suggestions about:
-items that should be in there
-pictures for on the wall
-materials
-lighting
-overall setting
etc…
…which I will then model and place in the shrine. A good motivation is of course required. Slowly a shrine will evolve that represents this board and to some extend also our lovely hostess.

Let me know what you think!:icon_bigg

Shrine ?
It's a small place for worshipping usually marked by a tiny building or roofstructure, sometimes religious, sometimes not...:icon_bigg

I'm no infographiste (beautiful word btw), but a student in architecture...

Mostly 3D-studio MAX 6, sometimes AutoCAD for more technical drawings.

Lightwave is cool too, very good renderer, also though about crossing over to Maya but my uni doesn't have licence for that, so I'll wait! (3000 EUR:icon_yike)

3D or not for me It's the same of Artworking ! I'm not sure another thread for another style of artwork is good !!!
And how many people use 3D software here ??

(3000 EUR:icon_yike)I haven't played with 3D-Studio, we have a couple clients using AutoCAD... I've heard few complaints about the renderer but I don't have any direct experience with it. We looked Maya... To expensive for the work we're doing so we opted for LightWave. :)

Dunno, a real dog would be a little above my modelling-skills, maybe I could make something schematic:icon_roll. At the very least I will put a picture of Coconut in. A kingsize bed is very doable, but what's the point if it's empty...

Keep the suggestions coming though!:icon_yes:

So, do you have something you want in there, like a favorite pic or toy?

Hey, maybe I can model you one day. If you'de like that I would need some reference-pictures of you (sooo hard to find pics of you on the net), preferably against a white or single-colored background with colored dots all over yourself.:icon_yes:;)

LOL,

I did try to model myself once, ended up looking really ugly, must be my modelling-skills....

OK, so here's a first little update with Crazy's sketch on the wall. I also put in some pictures and made a neon sign.

Maybe you would want some other pictures in there. Tell me which one and why (good story required) and I'll put it in!:icon_yes:

It's from her diary-section. You're right maybe the neon is a little over-the-top, he-he. I'll try to make something a little more quiet and placid, after all it is a place of worship..:icon_lol:

So how's your sketch coming along?

Thanx.
At the moment I miss the right mood to make it as fine as the others (slep less last night)

I recommend pink or blue courtains on both sides of the shrine with the same angle view as in your first try.
Maybe some white candles too?
If possible
I wish I could help you but i can only draw one *g*

yep, It definitely needs some curtains and candles to get the "shrine-feel". Still, flames are always difficult to render, besides burning candles are way too dangerous, before we know it the entire thing will catch fire:icon_lol:

Take your time with the drawing, I know all about inspiration, though my art-teacher always used to say: you need perspiration not inspiration!:icon_roll

Did you study art? Which kind of?

It was my teacher from back in highschool, one of my subject up until the last year was art (quit a while ago though).
Of course I do have art subjects for my studies usually with such telling names as "Art and Architecture 1","Art and Architecture 2", "Art and Architecture 3" etc..... mostly involves analysis though, no actual drawing (good for me!)

At least there are some who actually get to read old posts we might have otherwise missed. At least there's that.
Now to the spammer - boooring!! And, to quote Shrek," This is the part where ya run away."

Here's a little something to read - really interesting to put a better almost date to an important event in history. Inside the pic there's a next button top right.

Hehe... Perhaps it would be great Christmas happen in June, basically because it´s hotter here than December :cold:, at least here. But Christmas without white snow it would be a bit strange... and Santa Claus would have to left his job :bee:
