And no, school textbooks are not what I mean. But, if you simply must...

I'm halfway through Rite Of Passage by Richard D'Agostino, but I also just started The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield. I hate when I do this - reading two books at the same time. But at the urging of a friend I picked up TCP, but it kept staring at me while I was reading ROP. So I started reading it LOL.

What about you guys?

1/2 way through The Divine Comedy (I'm never gonna finish it, lol. It'll take another 2 years).

I'm always reading Edgar Allen Poe Stories, though too.

Dang, Jeff! Well I can honestly say I've never read any of yours. Just out of curiosity, what's this one "Black by Christopher Withcomb" about?

I recently finished reading Lone Survivor (http://www.amazon.com/Lone-Survivor-Eyewitness-Account-Operation/dp/0316067598/ref=pd_bbs_2/102-9814783-5208144?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1185631124&sr=1-2): The Eyewitness Account of Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes of SEAL Team 10 by Marcus Luttrell.

I'm not sure what to say about it... Lone Survivor is a hard to book read, you know why it was written and how it ultimately ends. That said it is an easy read, it's engaging, well written and well paced. Luttrell's style is easy to read... you can in effect hear Luttrell tell the story as you read it. Luttrell is natural story teller who can have you laughing on one page, and literally it tears on the next.

This isn't simply a tale of a mission gone bad and the losses suffered. It's not just a tale of how he came to be a part of that group and his part in the mission. It's a story that brings his team mates to life making them people with whom you can identify, empathize, and see as the individuals they were.

As I said at the start this is hard book to read, but in words of Paul Harvey this is "the rest of the story".

IMO Lone Survivor is a must read.

Does calculus "Differential Equations" count as a book I'm reading. Constantly reading over the chapters before doing the problems and homework assignments.....

I finished First Daughter by Eric Van Lustbader a few days ago... The basic story had a lot of potential but was ultimately ruined by a heavy undercurrent of anti-religious bigotry that runs throughout the book.

I'm currently reading Dark Horse by Ralph Reed... I'm about two thirds of the way through it, it's an excellent read.
