Here's a couple more photo's of my neighborhood... That big mound of snow in the second picture is my neighbor’s VW. In addition to having to dig her car out of that mound she'll looking at $100 fine for parking in a snow removal zone. :icon_no:

Hi All;

Here a quick picture of what I woke up to this morning... About a foot of drifting snow. Right now the temperature is hovering around 21f (-6c) with the wild chill it feels more like 5f (-15c).

We’re expecting 18-24 inches of snow by the time this storm moves out of the area later tonight.

Update: The marker in the foreground of the second picture is roughly 2 feet tall… It’s about 6 inches away from being buried… It’s not supposed to stop snowing until 5 or 6 this evening! :icon_yike

Update 2: 10:35 a.m. A couple of more pictures... The snow has let up a bit, I can see my nieghbors houses now, but the wind has picked up and the snow is drifting in "sheets"... And the power just went out... I hope the generator works or it's going to be a long day... :icon_chai

Can you go out at all?Yup... I cleaned out our driveway yesterday (God bless Toro Snow Throwers (http://www.toro.com/home/snowthrowers/gastwostage_powermax/828LE.html)!) and our town public works crews were out plowing and sanding the roads for about 30 hours straight.


I hope Maggie can make it home like that...Things should be pretty much back to normal by Wednesday. We're used to this sort of thing we usually get one really big snow storm a year... Maybe not this big but we're pretty good at digging out and getting on with life.


I like big snows though... And kind of like the chaos it comes with.I have kind of a love/hate relationship with snow storms... I love the way they can make the world look clean and pure for a while and cuddling in front of a fire with Maggie and watching the snow fall. But I hate having to clean the driveway and all traffic accidents and medical emergencies I have to respond to with the fire department.


It is something exciting. Do you ever go toboganing, Raz?

It is so much fun. When I was little we used to go to a near place to do so...I haven't been toboganing in years... I used to love it when I was kid.:)

Pretty boring really, I get up at 5:00 a.m., spend 30-45 minutes on my elliptical machine then have breakfast an read the Wall Street Journal, New York Sun and our local paper. I meant to ask you this earlier; I know you were in Paris at the time, but did you happen to see Madonna on the Grammy's last week? She opened the show (she sang "Hung Up" ;)). No, I couldnt get to see it.....

Okay, I have been madly in lust with SS since 1992, when the first B.I. came out. I think she is exquisitely beautiful. But, they have not found cancer anywhere else in her body (which was the case before, with the exception of her breast), so that's the best news ever.

It's strange (and this is how God protected her). She was supposed to go for her mammogram in Nov. of 2004. She didn't go then, so she was just going to wait and go in Nov. of 2005. But, in May, she decided that she'd better go in...that's when they found the cancer. It was in the early stages, but it had still spread to several of her lymph nodes, which they also took out. Who knows what would have happened had she waited till November to go in...if she had waited that 6 months, it truly could have cost her her life.
