Thanks to all the lucky vibes everyone has sent me. I'm doing well in the competition. I made it to round 3 which resumes tomorrow.

And thanks for all the concerned PMs and emails about the fire. Yes, there is another fire in Malibu. I just spoke to my mom and she had been evacuated again. She's fine though and is staying at a hotel. She believes this one won't be as bad as the last one though, because the winds will not be around for too long. However, more homes have been burned this time around.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and shopped like crazy on black friday!! :)

MaggieI'm good. I had a rather musical night tonight.
I was at my old high school filming a concert. My brother is in the stage band and they were playing with the legendary trumpeter James Morrison tonight. It's always a great night these Morrison concerts. He's not just a trumpet player, but an entertainer as well.
Anyways, i was filming it, had my mac and hard drive up there, and i'm making a dvd of it for people who may have missed it or just want to see it again.
He had his band there with him too, and his brother John on the drums.

It was a great night, except for a technical glitch which made me lose all the second half of the concert off my drive. Luckily i was recording it to mini dv tape as well, but the tape cut off towards the end. So i'll have to salvage what i can off the tape and try to work some magic with it.
I still can't believe it.. I recorded the whole 2nd half, just over an hour, and then it's gone. Just like that. :mad02: Human error on my behalf could have also played a small part in it..

And while i was doing all this, mum and dad went to see Elton John in concert.

I have some wornderful news for you.
You know that I had my advanced level spoken English exam and...
I passed but not only passed I got a not "with distinctive"
Meaning there were 5 grades and I got 4 A-s and one B.
The owner of the language school told me that there were no students who had this result in this stage.

So now I am proud of myself and I can see that all the effort payed back :)

Ok seriously, certain applications like photo and video editing are very resource intensive and work the processor and other components harder than word processing or web surfing. In simple terms it's about heat the processor, memory etc. generate more heat under heavy loads and in theory operating at higher temperatures for long periods can shorten their service life.

I'm sorry to read your news not so cool, my father have a construction's company and search everytime to finish all works, but not everytime it so easy because it depends by involontary problems. Naturally my father loves his job and luckily he has had able to finish the biggest works like big and beautiful houses also like yours.

Having a few different companies to choose from is a good thing, I like to get 3 or 4 estimates before hiring someone... There's a better chance you'll find someone you like and can work with to get things done the way you want.
