Maggie's mom and dad are staying with me while she recovering and her mom decided to help and do the laundry and a little housekeeping to help out. Well to make a long story short she found Maggie's "toy" collection while she putting away some of her laundry. :icon_no: :icon_redf

I'm sure you dad would like Sandra, it might take him a little while to warm up to her but once he finds out what a sweet, charming person she is he'll love her just as much as we do.

Yes! Ive been a fan of Silent Hill since playing the first game on the Playstation back in 1999. I dont think I ever played it at night!:icon_lol: Very atmospheric and a psychological horror - that I do like - its the fears that are the scariest thing in the game and I hope this comes across in the film.

I really liked the plot in the second game with the protagonist of the game being haunted by his wife and I liked how in the third game, they tied up the plot from the first game. I never got to play the fourth game though.

I understand the film will be based on the first game. Cant wait to see it!:icon_peac

I wasn't expecting everyone to be this friendly (optimism is something I'm trying to get into my life). I'm still sick from the Vicoden I'm taking, though I am taking double than what I should be. I figure I have 2 options: Pain or neausia (I can't spell, sorry).

But anyway, I didn't watch the trial today, they bumped it back. I don't think I'll ever get to watch one for my class :icon_cry: .

Tads: Definitly play the games at night, in a dark room, very loud. I use the PS2, so I can't use headphones, but darkness, game loudness, and loneliness will affect the mood!!!!

Harry Mason's character was switched over to the cute blonde woman running around in the Silent Hill movie trailer (because of that reason, I really don't want to say much about the character, since it may spoil the movie for those of you like the scary stuff). Essentially, Harry will do anything to find his daughter. He is Mr. Morals and what every parent trys to be.
I mean, imagine it. You are in a deserted town with monsters running around and all you can think about is: Where's my daughter?!?!?!? I need to find my daughter!!!!!!! Have you seen her!!!!!!!! I love her so much!!!!!!!

You are correct, Heather Morris is indeed the protagonist in the 3rd game.

To say the least, your character may very well be the most important one in the entire series!!!! She is the Holy Mother, which makes her the mother of "God". Come to think of it, you are indeed 3 people rolled into one (I won't say.....cause of the movie, but if anyone REALLY wants to know, just PM me). Claudia and Heather were originally best friends (called themselves sisters even), but when Heather left, Claudia was alone and hired someone to look for Heather (your character).

Well, as you said, James did kill his wife. I still don't see him as a bad person (I know that sounds really bad, but wait and see). Well, let's begin at the start for this one, shall we?

According to James, Mary (his lovely, kind, and attractive wife) died three years ago from an uncurable disease. James then gets a letter, from Mary. It tells him that she is waiting for him in their "Special Place" in Silent Hill. James then goes into Silent Hill to find her. I'm going to ruin the game for the people who want to play it, so if you are one of those people, just skip the next paragraph ;).

Later on, near the end of the game, we find out that James killed his wife (mercy killing), and has been punishing himself ever since. Probably a week ago really and not three years, most people believe when Mary got sick, James thought she was dead anyways. We then learn it seems like James has been having a nervous breakdown the entire game......it was a great twist!!!

So with that said, I don't think James is a bad person, and I feel terrible for him. Though Tad, you and me are very much the same (actually, I think only one answer separates Claudia from James).

Oh, and I'd like to ask another question, if you Lost Souls don't mind. Just what, or who, are you in search of?

To say the least, your character may very well be the most important one in the entire series!!!! She is the Holy Mother, which makes her the mother of "God". Come to think of it, you are indeed 3 people rolled into one (I won't say.....cause of the movie, but if anyone REALLY wants to know, just PM me). Claudia and Heather were originally best friends (called themselves sisters even), but when Heather left, Claudia was alone and hired someone to look for Heather (your character).

Yes - I do believe James is a good man and was trying to end the suffering of his wife. It was great twist.

I thought the concept of Maria in the game was brilliant. (For non-players - she bore a remarkable resemblance to Mary and befriended James during the day) Was she a figument of his imagination? I cant remember. It was great when James spoke to her in the prison - was it Maria - or was it Mary?

She's getting her strength back and she has that sparkle back in eyes. :) We have lunch together most days, she hates the hospital food! But the hospital dietitian gave me a list of things I can bring her from the deli... It's pretty simple fair but at least it has taste!

I delivered her new laptop and cell phone the other day so she can surf and “pester” me with IMs all day... Having the phone and the laptop has helped her mood considerably. She was feeling a little isolated but now that she has her phone and laptop she can communicate with family and friends a lot easier.

Its right around 6 eastern I'm about head over the hospital to see Maggie and tuck her in for the night. She's doing better... She's getting her strength back and she has that sparkle back in eyes. :) We have lunch together most days, she hates the hospital food! But the hospital dietitian gave me a list of things I can bring her from the deli... It's pretty simple fair but at least it has taste!

I delivered her new laptop and cell phone the other day so she can surf and “pester” me with IMs all day... Having the phone and the laptop has helped her mood considerably. She was feeling a little isolated but now that she has her phone and laptop she can communicate with family and friends a lot easier.

Sorry I've been away for so long, but probably not missed. It happens.

Anyway Tad, I can never resist a Silent Hill question :icon_bigg, though its probably been out of your mind.

Maria is a difficult case indeed (I haven't seen the DVDs at all). I believe that there are two theories out there for her.

1) She was created as a coping mechanism for James, because of the loss of Mary. The Born From a Wish Senario, I believe was just a method the town SH used on her to make her think that she was real. Besides her, there was really been no other curcumstance where a person never really remembered who they where. I believe in this theory.
2) Maria was always a real person and the town used her to torrment James, or something along those lines. I don't think this is very likely, because why would a needy person come back to torrment someone and appear to be their dead spouse (answering another question you had, 3/4 "Final Boss" fights are with Maria appearing as Mary, only one was suppose to be of a "Town's Evil Memory" of her, so its never REALLY Mary).

Oh, I just read your words at the top :icon_shak , (calls self Dumbass, lol) I think it was Maria, she was just screwing with James (remember, this is her 1st coming back to life, she needs to say something creepy and strange :icon_wink ). Adding a note, the 2nd game was full of foreshadowing (I try to be a writer, when I'm not working or doing school stuff). Example: After James kills Eddie, he's quoted to say: I.....I killed a......human being (or something close to that). Mary, are you still alive? Yeah, I know after I kill someone, I immediantly think of my dead wife and wonder if she's still alive :icon_roll . But thats the cool thing about the SH games, everytime you play them, you find something new. :icon_bigg :icon_yes:

There's a dialog between James and Mary (the REAL Mary) that is the most saddest thing anyone will ever hear in their lives, something that a couple should never have to go through. I think that after everyone hears it, they will first cry (at least shed a single tear) and then tell their loved one how much they love them.

Your right. I said it before somewhere on the forum, but I'm working on becoming profiler for the F.B.I. in America, and in law enforcement, they try to train you to understand criminal behavior.
I have problems understanding sex crimes (I know they are about power and control, but I guess my mind isn't wired to think that way, I mostly understand homicides and violent crimes, such as assults/batteries.....serial killings are the easiest for me) and crimes against children (like sex ones, I only understand its a compulsion......but its :icon_censing sick!!!!!!!!!!!!), but their one of the people that I, honestly,......well.....let's make this senario. (Those of you who don't like violence, don't read the next paragraph!!!!!!) I mean it!!!!!

Sandra and I are having a nice breakfast in a mom & pop cafe (Somehow for some weird reason Sandra met me and for an even weirder reason she wanted to have breakfast with me :icon_surp:icon_conf). We are having a good time and a few people are in there, when all of a sudden, a convicted child rapist walks in the cafe. I, by now, am a police officer, sworn to uphold the law, (christ, I hope the F.B.I. never read this....... ), walk over to this man. I pull my gun from its holster, and blast the rapist right in the head. I walk over to where Sandra and me are having breakfast, sit back down, and start eating and talking to Sandra again, like nothing happened. I'd feel as thou I'd be doing the world a favor.

That is how much a HATE and feel about those types of people, in case you were wondering.

I haven't really read much of Shakespeare. The one I do remember reading was "Much Ado About Nothing" (is that the correct title?). What do you recommend from Shakespeare?

Maria is a difficult case indeed (I haven't seen the DVDs at all). I believe that there are two theories out there for her.

1) She was created as a coping mechanism for James, because of the loss of Mary. The Born From a Wish Senario, I believe was just a method the town SH used on her to make her think that she was real. Besides her, there was really been no other curcumstance where a person never really remembered who they where. I believe in this theory.
2) Maria was always a real person and the town used her to torrment James, or something along those lines. I don't think this is very likely, because why would a needy person come back to torrment someone and appear to be their dead spouse (answering another question you had, 3/4 "Final Boss" fights are with Maria appearing as Mary, only one was suppose to be of a "Town's Evil Memory" of her, so its never REALLY Mary).

Oh, I just read your words at the top :icon_shak , (calls self Dumbass, lol) I think it was Maria, she was just screwing with James (remember, this is her 1st coming back to life, she needs to say something creepy and strange :icon_wink ). Adding a note, the 2nd game was full of foreshadowing (I try to be a writer, when I'm not working or doing school stuff). Example: After James kills Eddie, he's quoted to say: I.....I killed a......human being (or something close to that). Mary, are you still alive? Yeah, I know after I kill someone, I immediantly think of my dead wife and wonder if she's still alive :icon_roll . But thats the cool thing about the SH games, everytime you play them, you find something new. :icon_bigg :icon_yes:

I watched the Making Of DVD on Sunday and they discussed the ambiguities of the characeters - therefore not giving a distinguished answer. I guess it is our intepretations that make it - like with all pieces of art.

Its a fascinating 25 minute feature - the makers are very clever in how they portrayed the fears - as they said - sound was key point where silence was used to emphasise the fear of not knowing what is there.

They get rewarded if they write 1.500.000 tickets a year for example.
