Well that takes the fun right out if it... Half the fun of going to driving range is trying to hit cart guy.:lol: Yeah.. They should put a proper target on the side of that thing.
Whenever the buggy comes out to make a collection run..

"Ball buggy!"
Everyone takes aim:
*Clang*
*Crash*
*Krang*

I can just imagine it at aqua golf:

"Ball boat!"
*Clonk*
"Oww! Fuck!!"
*Splash*

"Excuse me sir, i'll have to ask you to leave"

I don't think that I've ever seen anything like that...done
on water. I've seen driving ranges with some targets.

Maybe it's just me....but I don't quite understand the whole
water angle of the aqua golf thing.
What purpose is the water supposed to serve?
Are you just supposed to get off on the fact that you're hitting
into water instead of dry land or grass?

It's not like it's a water obstacle or anything like that...the whole place
is water. Are you supposed to enjoy hearing and seeing the ball
plop into the water? I guess that might be some kind of fun
for kids.

Are the floating balls on the water simply to try and make the
ball collection a little easier?

Do you somehow get to go swimming?...I just don't get the
need or purpose of the water.
...other than it might be cooling and relaxing.

BTW....I've always wondered about the aiming for the guy
in the ball collection cage thing at the driving range.
I've wondered if they could make something like that for
actual use out on the golf courses.
Something like instead of a flag by the hole...they could
have someone standing or moving out there or somewhere out on the
fairway in some sort of a protective cage. It might inspire some people
to become better shots. ;)I'd say it's just for fun, really.
And the floating balls are to make collection easier. Instead of having all the balls sitting on the bottom of the lake.

Since it will be your 5th year anniversary of having them you should break them out and go to the range. The water driving range looks beautiful so give it a try one day;)I've been there before. It's fun. :)
And there's a Krispy Kreme donut shop right across the road from it. :D

You lucky guy. There was only one Krispy Kreme near me and it was still a good 15 miles away. It closed a couple of years ago and now there are none near me at all. Well at least there are 2 Dunkin Donuts in my town. Even though they aren't nearly as good

The Krispy Kreme shop near the aqua golf place is pretty far from me. But we've got some that are closer.
There's a Krispy Kreme shop out near the airport (and some small outlets in the terminals) and the closest one is in a nearby shopping centre. I think that one's still there..
Haven't heard of Dunkin Donuts before. We've got Donut King over here. Their logos look similar, but i think they're 2 different franchises.

I'm completely lost in this conversation. I've never even had a Krispy Kreme donut... The nearest one something like 30 miles from here and just can't get excited enough about a donut to make the trip.

Sorry to interrupt, I just want to dive in to ask if anyone can recommend a camera for taking photo's of buildings, smaller objects, epople and such that isn't too expensive? Someone recommended a Kodak Z1275, but $200 is a bit much for me now. If it is a really good camera though I will dig into my student loan, actually no, that is too expensive for me now.

So, anything else? Thanks. http://www.smileyshut.com/smileys/new/Respect/applause-038.gif (http://www.smileyshut.com/Smileys/Smiley-Huts-Free-Respect-Smileys.html)

You can pick up a good entry level "point & Shoot" camera for under $200 dollars. Take a look at the Nikon Coolpix L20 or Canon PowerShot A480... There's both around $120. I've seen a few Vivitar and Kodak models advertised for under $100 but I'm a little dubious about them. :)

Thanks Razor, that should do it. Actually perfect. I used to take photos with a Canon. I thought, with my usual lack of self confidence, that maybe I was doing the wrong thing when I took pictures, until I went to an art display where I saw the artist had drawn an identical composition to the photo I had taken. I was interested in square buildings adjacent to an overhanging crane. Particularly the spaces that resulted.

Amazing how lack of confidence can affect out path.

Just one question, I skimmed over flash cards and USB cards, but I am not sure whether the camera will allow one to download onto a P.C. It seems the card is compatible with a notebook, but I just need to be certain I can download pics into a P.C. modem. Is the card detachable? How does it work. Excuse my ignorance.

Oh, and what software would you recommend? Maybe just Microsoft Office or could one use Nero, or what would you say that isn't too complemecated? Well, if it is difficult I can always take the time. In any case one needs to mess around with these things.

I would love to send you all the photo's of Portland. Long overdue. By now so many buildings have been finished. I could have shown you all a dozen buildings under construction. Well, they maybe would look better now anyway.

This town is a photographer's paradise.

Thanks so much.

Both Camera's use SD format memory cards (those are the small postage stamp size cards.) and come with a cable to connect to yous PC so you can down your photos. The cards are removable and as general rule it's a good idea to use an external card reader to download you photos.

Software wise Adobe Photoshop Elements is what I general recomend for hobbiests. It has all the tools you'll need to organize and edit your photos.

Yeah, we're up to ver. 11 AKA Photoshop CS4 now.

Photoshop Elements (http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshopelwin/?promoid=BPDEM) is the entry level version for consumers/hobbiests. It lacks a lot of the features of the professional version but it's still a pretty powerful tool. And it includes at project templates and clip-art for making photo cards or party invitations. :)

Yeah it's up to a very tropical 31c... We had to do a photo shot, an out door photo shot. It was so humid the model melted... Literally, our stylist did her hair and make indoors where it was air conditioned and after about 10 minutes outside we had to send her in retouching.

It was ugly, we're sweating rivers stand still in the shade.

Thanks for all the advice. It comes with a cable. Oki, they didn't say that on Amazon.

You know, 31C is pretty average for Johannesburg, one of the cooler areas in S.A. The wonderful thing about hot days in JHB is no matter how hot the day, there is always a cool breeze blowing. Where it comes from, I have no idea. If you stand still a moment, you can actually cool down a bit. Wonderful Also, there are so many trees finding shade isn't that difficult.

The thing is, really I see now there is a difference between dry heat and humidity. Even winter is slightly colder in Johannesburg than here in Portland.

Yeah, humidity sucks. We've had a very cool, wet spring and summer... it's not unusual for us to have a few hot, hazy humid days in August but it's more common in July.

This was a crazy day we had a wild thunder storm blow through here around 5:00 p.m... I was pretty intense... even the bees took cover! :bolt: At least it cooled things off. The temperature dropped from 31c to 22c in about an hour! :cold:

Yeah it's up to a very tropical 31c... We had to do a photo shot, an out door photo shot. It was so humid the model melted... Literally, our stylist did her hair and make indoors where it was air conditioned and after about 10 minutes outside we had to send her in retouching.

No, he 'forgot' his front wing this time after he clipped another car during a practice session on Friday.
At least he was able to push his detached wing back to the garage with his car.

The cards are removable and as general rule it's a good idea to use an external card reader to download you photos.

Can I ask why you say that "as a general rule it's a good idea
to use an external cared reader"?

I agree that it's not a bad idea...but I'm wondering why you
used the term "as a general rule".

Is there any difference between using an internal or an external
card reader?
...or when you said "external" were you really meaning an
internal reader with the slot that you insert the flash card
into?

I've never used an "external reader"...but I know what they are...and
I assume that they connect via a USB cable/port.

Is there something really bad about connecting the camera to
your computer via a USB cable to download images/files?
(..takes too long?...uses up battery power?...the camera can't be
used to take pictures while it is downloading etc?)

I agree that if you have access to a flash card reader(internal
or external)...it's almost always better to just pop the card out of the camera and to transfer the images/files that way.

Hey John, most card readers are USB but there are some high end Firewire ones also... Strictly speaking you don't need a card reader but they're worthwhile investment just for convenience... Transferring images with a card reader is faster and it saves battery power and general wear and tear on your camera.

Three different flights in three different B-17Gs!?!....Wow!..that
is pretty nifty.

Do they allow you to try and squeeze down into the ball/belly turret?

When you take their "rides"/flights....do they attempt any simulated combat runs/drops? Do they by any chance have any other smaller aircraft attempt to buzz by the B-17?
(....too silly?..too dangerous..too costly?)

Do they have passenger seats set up for the "rides"/flights?..or do you
just have to kind of rough it?
I'd imagine that they have some sort of removeable seat set
up for the sake of comfort, safety and insurance.

There's not such thing as comfort in B-17... As big as they look from the outside they're very cramped on inside.

The seating varies by aircraft, the Aluminum Overcast and Liberty Belle both have passenger seats. The Nine-O-Nine, which is a much more complete/faithful restoration, doesn't. Passengers the same crew chairs and canvas benches the bomber crews did in WWII.

The new Brad Pitt comedy?...I am assuming that you're talking
about the new Tarantino "Inglourious Basterds" film.

I've heard nothing but good things about that film from
people that have seen it recently...and some of that was
coming from people who you wouldn't expect to like
a Tarantino film like that...with some of the violence and blood/gore etc.
It's a little long and a little "talkie"..but people seem to like the
overall movie. The story/script is very interesting.

The original reviews coming from Cannes were kind of "iffy"...but
all of the newer reviews coming on the wide release of the film are
mostly quite positive....if you have interest in seeing the film..they say
that it's certainly worth seeing.

Keep in mind that is a full blown Tarantino film...it's "R" rated..and you
should be expecting loads of foul language and some violence/blood.
I have been told that the blood shown is quick and it really isn't so
bad..and that was coming form someone that strongly dislikes
seeing blood in films.

I am sure that Brad Pitt is the main draw for Sandra to want to
see this new movie. I have been told that he is very good in
this film playing the part that he was cast to play.
His character talks with an interesting southern american
accent.

AMY LANDECKER'S NEW 'WIG'

August 23, 2009 --

JOEL and Ethan Coen have very exacting standards.
The Oscar winners' next picture, "A Serious Man,"
is set in 1967 -- which posed a challenge for
Amy Landecker's full-frontal nude scene. "I guess
women back then didn't do the whole Brazilian thing,
so they had to get a wig for me made," the actress
tells Page Six. "I was a little self-conscious because
I thought the wig was too big, but so long as everyone
knows it's not mine, that's OK." Landecker also says
the Coen brothers are "so brilliant that it makes you
nervous."

Thank you for sharing the update on your situation/condition.
We didn't hear any word from you in a while...I thought that
maybe you had gone in for some surgery.

No surgery...for now.
I guess that's a good thing...but with big bones you never really know
for sure about how they may set and heal etc.
(...my brother in law is an orthopedic surgeon so I have an interest
in bone surgery related topics...I've also been involved with
a position where I was personally dealing with many broken
ankle situations.)

It is good to hear that it's feeling better for you.
I hope that it really is getting better.
I'm assuming that they set it for you somehow..and that your
leg is all casted up (..above the knee?).
Are you able to scoot around on some crutches without much
pain? (...I'll also assume that some pain meds might have been
prescribed.)

Oh boy....you slipped while carrying the dog in a thunderstorm.
...that must have been some hairy and wet scene...Oofa!
Did you know right from the moment that the bone was
snapped?..or did you think that it might just be a really bad sprain?

BTW...is it OK to ask about how your puppy is doing now?
I hope that he/she is doing better.
You've probably been feeling worse off for the sick puppy
than you have for your own busted up leg self.

Was it really an odd feeling to be a patient at the hospital where
you work? I hope..and I'm sure that they tried to take really
good care of you during your stay.
You weren't admitted were you?...I'm assuming that you were
treated in the ER and then sent home for healing.

(....sorry about asking so many questions.)

I hope that you're healed up and walking around just fine in
time for your planned trip to europe.

It has to be a great film, in the way of the old Second World War like Dirty Dozen. I love those type of films :yippee:

I don't know about "great"...but it is certainly good....based on
the word of mouth reports that I'm hearing back from friends.
People that I wouldn't have expected to like this movie at all
have been raving it up...so that's a pretty positive indicator.
(..I'll see it for myself..eventually.)

Tarantino modeled this movie as his version of a WW2 "Dirty Dozen"
type of film. He had always wanted to make a film like that..and I
suppose that he now has made his vision.
There is also some pretty good talk about some sort of a planned
prequel type of sequel to go along with this movie...*if* it does good enough business worldwide.
Maybe they'd release the planned prequel story in a graphic novel form
if the filmed version never makes it into actual production.

Many years ago when I had first heard Tarantino talking about his
desire to do a WW2 based film/story...I was really intrigued on
the hows and whats of exactly what he had in mind.
When this movie was first announced and went into production I
was feeling kind of let down on what had been Tarantino's
initial desires and expectations for his original
WW2 film ideas.
I thought that various business situations had forced him to enter
into his WW2 based film production kind of rushed and half-assed.
I was feeling let down that he wasn't going to be allowed to do it
in exactly the way that he really wanted to etc....but I was still
excited that he was actually going to do something in the genre.

It turns out that he probably managed to make a pretty decent
and entertaining movie...even if it does differ from some or
most of his original concepts.
(...maybe we might get to see some of those ideas in his
prequel/sequel situation. I think that is one of the reasons
why he has stated that he already has the prequel ideas
scripted and planned out already...they may have been
the original ideas that he started out with many years back.)

I wonder if Sandra went to out to see this movie or not.
I'm wondering what she thought of it..and if she had to cover her
eyes up at any point during some of the more violent and bloody
scenes?
I know that she was wanting to go see Brad Pitt do his thing on the
big screen. He doesn't get naked in this movie...but he does kind of
go bare chested for a bit.

Sandra has captured the dangerous, in your face, slight hard, challenge look there. I think if Sandra had continued to be a model, she would have shown Gisele Bundchen, Kate Moss and others a few things. I am glad Sandra didn't take that route. Too much cattiness, too many drugs and too much drama. Also, she would not have been able to employ so many people, or meet such lovely people like Gili Sky for instance, or Agi.

Yes....because none of the things that you listed there
exist or happen within the world/business of adult modeling. ;)

...cattiness?..drugs?..drama? (...have you ever met [NAME DELETED]?!?)

It's pretty much the same all over in so many ways in
certain aspects of "show business"...no matter what
level in which you may be operating within.

Certain people..certain "types"...and certain problems...almost..for certain. :bolt:

Is that what Sandra is doing there?

Wow....and here I was thinking that it was just Sandra done
up all really nice and simply looking at the camera...without blinking. ;)

Sandra's such a seasoned pro......she always manages to make the tough stuff look so super easy. :icon_yes:

Wow, you really do come on strong, don't you?

I know it must be really hard and lonely for some of the adult film performers where there are these little cliques, where some are treated to a smile and a hug, and others are ignored almost flat. It is difficult when you have no one to turn to, and the only persons you encountered that day or night were those trying to increase the size of their bank account from your naked body, all the while stabbing you in the back the moment it is turned.

Oh, I know people.

I like to think Sandra at least is polite to some of the ladies she has paid. In fact, I am pretty sure she is. Nastiness has a habit of showing itself on a person's face after a while. I only see love in Sandra's eyes.

I also think it is really stressful to her dealing with all these people. That's why Sandra can always count on our support and love, no matter what.

I am quite aware of people's foibles. I am exposed to bitchiness and pettiness here at College. In fact, since coming to this country I have found I am able to communicate even less with people than I ever was before. If it wasn't for the fact gossip is strictly forbidden, things would be a lot worse.

Not only does one get constantly shouted down, but it seems unless you are either babbling on about your own business or someone's else's life, they get a glazed over bored expression.

So far the only people I have been able to talk to are older instructors who have developed the technique of shutting the fuck up when someone is talking to them.

The amount of knowledge about South Africa is astounding. A typical conversation would go: "Where do you get your accent?"
"South Africa".
"Oh, right. Yeah, right, like Zimbabwe or where again?"

Then one listens to a whole lot of nothing all about Africa, before they start talking some nonsense about something else, without giving one a word in edge ways.

I can tell you, it gets really lonely at times.

Having said that, yes hairstylists are highly strung, artistic and difficult at times - except me, I am almost perfect, you see - but they are some of the most sensitive, caring people around, obviously, otherwise they wouldn't be in this industry.

In any case, yes, I may be wrong, nonetheless, I can usually discern people's expressions, and I am usually right. If one is posing for fashion, as I am sure you are perfectly aware, one is expected to adopt a certain pose.

I am impressed that Sandra can alter her expression to include this genre.

Does this make sense to you?

FYI I have an exam tomorrow, plus two practical exams this week, so I am operating under duress; if you are getting the brunt of it I apologise.

It sounds a good car, not like Mad Max cars but it´s ok for me ;)Thanks. :)
It's been nearly 2 weeks since the old car was written off, and i was kinda expecting to be without a car for a bit longer than that.
Mad Max car would have been cool, but no. Not to happen.

Which one would you prefer if you had to choose, the black Interceptor or the yellow police car? (not sure of the name)

Alonso ended in the 6th position finally. It´s not a bad place I suppose... But since he´s married with a female singer from a (second division in my opinion hehe) poppie band here, he is really thinking in other things... :bee: Bad luck for Webber this time friend :(Hamilton's paired up with a Pussycat Doll. So maybe his mind has been elsewhere during the first part of the season..
And Webber finished where he started. 9th. Moved up 1 or 2 places during the race but then fell back.

Thanx for all the info about the film mate :yippee: and plus congratulations for your work with all those pretty links about Sandra :hearts: clap_smile

Hello Sandra.....:hearts:

I have some quick questions for you about your SSL image production.

What software program do you use to add on your little SSL
logo marks to the bottom of all of your SSL images?

Do you have any kind of funny nicknames that you use for your SSL
logo marks?

...and do you have to do that to each image individually..or does
the software allow you to add that logo mark to a whole bunch
of selected image files all at one time with a few clicks of your
keyboard?

Hey John, I'm not Sandra but I think I can answer your questions...
Adobe Photoshop is more or less the industry "standard" for professional image editing. There's other proprietary and open source tools out there but to the best of my knowledge none of them has the market penetration of Photoshop.

Photoshop allows you to record macros to automate repetitive tasks like adding a watermark to images.

HTH.

missing Sandra.

..and boom bada bing...here she is and she's back. :yahoooo:

I'm just glad to hear that she's OK and that she's been
keeping busy with all of her work stuff.
(...I was just starting to get a bit overly concerned/nervous about Sandra's silence :icon_nerv ...but I figured that she must be busy
with other things elsewhere.)

Yes I've been shooting a lot of stuff for my site and one good example of it is my latest update, Blue Signs. Its been shot last week so its very fresh ;)

hey ,y dears, I am sorry to hiding so much these days but this week been crazy for me. We were touring around the country to shoot some outdoor sets for my site so I didnt even had time to turn on my computer. Anyhow I came home with exceptional sets you will see them soon :) Today I am again on that TV movie doing the body double thing. And I need to go now as my pickup car will be here in 5 minutes. I just wanted to pop in to say hi and tell you that I think about you a lot :)
Kisses :icon_hug::hearts:

Ahh Sandra thanks so much for letting us know. I was lying in bed last night wondering if I should inquire where you are.
So you are really busy. Wow you have the body double shoot. That, Miss Shine, is awesome. Truly. Congratulations.

Soon we will be seeing Sandra everywhere. Maybe you will meet the Pitts sometime soon too after all. Maybe where you would least expect.

God bless you Sandra. :boobies: :icon_hug: :yippee:

Did you get to go to Croatia?

I have ordered a Canon A480 camera, so I hope to post some pictures to show how lovely Portland is, quaint and modern at the same time.

What kind of music do you like to listen to in the car?

Just wondering....do you know if you are able to get Pulse 87
out where you are on the island?
Pulse 87 is a hot "underdog" NYC dance music station.
(...technically it's actually broadcast on some sort of TV signal.)

I was helping out with a gig tonight. (sat night)

We set up a performance space in the hall just outside the studio (stage, lights, microphones etc) and had a band come down and play. We filmed a few of their performances and we'll be putting it on the show soon. I was on one of the cameras. Roving camera, had it on my shoulder and was moving about getting shots.
The band was quite good. My left ear is still ringing.. We finished up at about 8:30pm, it's now 2:31am.
But here's the thing.
All camera people were wearing headphones so we could communicate with the people in the control room. I had the camera on my right shoulder and my right ear was uncovered cause that side headphone thing wouldn't fit with the camera in the way.
So my left ear which had a headphone piece over it to hear the guys at the main desk is ringing. And my right ear which was uncovered and exposed to the loud music around me is fine.

Go figure.

Hey

Hi Kat.....

Can I just ask you a quick question about something going
on in your area of Portland this week/Saturday night(8/29/09).

Have you heard anything locally about the big UFC 102 event that is
taking place in Portland? Have you happened to run across seeing
or hearing about any of the local promotion of the big event?

I know that you are probably not in the usual UFC targeted
demographics for their usual ads and promotions...but beyond
all of that..I was just wondering if you might at least be
somehow aware of the event going on in Portland..maybe
through some local word of mouth or through some sort
of local media exposure.

It's a national PPV event that just happens to be taking place live
in Portland.
(...Randy Couture..one of the main event fighters is originally from the Portland area...he is a well known legend in the sport.)

UFC® 102 COUTURE vs NOGUEIRA

======

When the history of mixed martial arts is written, two names will stand at the top of the heavyweight division - Randy "The Natural" Couture and Antonio Rodrigo "Minotauro" Nogueira. But these two legendary former champions aren't thinking about the history books, they're looking to make another run at the UFC title, and to get there, they must face each other in the Octagon in the main event of UFC 102: Couture vs. Nogueira.

In the co-feature, two of the light heavyweight division's heaviest hitters collide, when perennial contender Keith "The Dean of Mean" Jardine takes on Brazilian powerhouse Thiago Silva.

UFC 102: Couture vs. Nogueira - Saturday, August 29th, live on Pay-Per-View from the Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon.

I know nothing. I seriously have absolutely no interest in blood sports. In fact, I am not interested in sports. I have never never able to fathom what guys see in them. I suppose the excitement of a team winning, or how the ball is played. :fight: :dunno:

At the last school I went to they only had rugby and hockey. I used to swim. I played chess at this school. I did win the finals, which makes me a nerd I suppose. Not a computer nerd though.

My grandfather was a boxer, as I think I mentioned before, but I don't remember ever meeting him, or in fact any of the family until recently.

In any case, I went to an audition today for a talent search. I could pursue it further, as they seem interested, but, I don't have $4000 to pay for further training etc.

Then there is the big test I have this Tuesday. The group of students including myself have been so busy with practical exams this week past, nothing else mattered much. In addition, the anxiety for the audition turned me into a bundle of nerves, which were already stressed as it. :icon_nerv

Hey Grant it is only Sunday 11 am here so the weekend hasn't ended but how did your weekend go? :icon_hug:Yeah, it was good.
My football team played this afternoon and i saw the game on tv. Semis and finals are approaching, and my team was sitting in 2nd place on the leaderboard. Anyway, the team ahead of us in 1st place lost their game on Saturday, and my team won their game on Sunday.
So now my team is in the lead. And that's a good spot to be in with semi finals coming up.

So i'm happy. :D

Love

No my Croatia trip got postponed and umm yes meeting mr Pitt would be hell of a plan :) :) Sorry Angie I would keep him for a while if you dont mind ;)

Hey all,

How are you doing?

I spent Friday and some parts of Saturday at the lake Balaton but I got very sick I must have eaten something bad as no food stayed in my belly. I was throwing up no matter what I ate or drunk. Then I came home ( with 2 stops hehe ) and made myself a tea and some diet food then went to sleep. My receipe seemed to be working as when I woke up today I felt much better..
I spent today in bed watching some TV and some more sleeping and now I am feeling good. I dont know what this was but its gone Thank God !!

I hope you spent your weekend better then I did :)

Ahh almost forgot to mention I went to the lake Balaton with miss Maria Bellucci we seem to make a good party couple she is so crazy like I am :bee:

Glad you recovered. http://www.smileyshut.com/smileys/new/ANIMATEDMSN/emot149.gif (http://www.smileyshut.com/Smileys/Smiley-Huts-Free-Animated-MSN-Smileys.html)

Isn't the body a wonderful machine? It is amazing how it will not tolerate any foreign substance, fighting to defend itself as much as it can.

Tea, of course, is a wonder substance. As is aspirin, (in small doses). Green tea especially, and chamomile to calm oneself down. Hmm - why didn't I think of that earlier?

I went to an talent audition with iPop, (International Presentation of Performers). They essentially recommend people to agents. The President himself auditioned me. I had a call back, which I went to today. He was impressed. He wanted me to start training with one of the staff.

I wanted to do acting for many a year. Well, maybe not all the time, as I think I would suck at it. Thing is, I wanted to get going in this. Then, I lost sight of this vision, joining up at Beauty School.

Registration with iPop costs $4000. Then there is the small matter of airfares etc. Although I am glad I am at Beauty School, had I carried on looking for a job, eventually finding one, I may have had the money. There again, there is no guarantee I would have found work even after all this time.

I am really glad I started at the Beauty School. Especially now I am out of the classroom. Yes, although I don't have scores, the instructor's assistant told me I did well. (They have employed assistants now. I guess they discovered not everyone is actually getting attention). I should be doing esthetics and nail classes for two months now - which apparently are even more difficult.

So, no money, no registration. I was in tears, as it feels like a chance has passed me by. There will be others though.

For the little audition - get this - I used the argument scene Grant posted not so long back!

Thanks Grant!

Oh mi gosh it was all I could think of. Oki I also did a little skit I made up of two brothers Luigi and Carlos in the kitchen fighting over covering the other's ass while the one brother takes a girlfriend from a rival mafia family out on a date. Ah whatever.

Anyway, Mr Beauchamp enjoyed the little homemade argument.

No, he didn't.
Yes, he did.
NO, he DIDN'T.

YES HE DID!!!!

Oh no....I'm really sorry to read all of that....but I am relieved to
read that you are feeling better now.
Whatever it was...it seems to have come and gone.

I'm just wondering...if it wasn't something that you ate...did you
go out for any drinks? Is it possible that someone might have slipped
something bad that made you sick into one of your drinks?
I hope that wasn't the case here...but these days you should always
be on guard for stuff like that happening.

Registration with iPop costs $4000. Then there is the small matter of airfares etc.

That sounds kind of "scammy".
...but I am not sure about all of the details that are involved
with the fee. (...what services you get in return etc.)

Please be wary....there are many different "talent agency" scams out and
about these days.

I am really interested and wondering.....what kind of services
does iPop offer for $4000?
I am wondering if what they offer for $4000 isn't really the type
of stuff that you could go out and do for yourself for $400..or less.

Hey Dan....

There's nothing to be sorry about...you've been busy elsewhere
with more important things.
We'll be here when you are ready to return.

I hope that your move went well..and that you're OK with your
new place.

Thanks man. It actually got off to a really bad start. After buying over $500 to $600 dollars worth of food, cleaners, school supplies, and all the other stuff you need for a new place, it was all stolen.:bellow: I was setting stuff outside to be loaded up in friend's car when he came by to pick me up. I went inside to tie up some lose ends before I left. When I came out, everything was gone. It delayed my move by a day because I had to deal with the cops and go out and buy some of the stuff back. I have good neighbors, but the one has a sister with a drug problem and I saw her over there the next day(They had kick her out over a year ago, so I didn't even know she was back until then). The cops even think she did it because of how much was stolen in the short amount of time and that where it was at, you could only see it from their window. I'm still replacing some of the stuff.

Congrats Dan. Hope you like it. :)

I love it!!!

Hey Dan I hope you're enjoying your new place . Did you move because this place is nicer or were you commuting too far?

I move for school. And since I'm over 25 (26), I get my own dorm room with my own bath and kitchen, and cable TV is part of the rent. The funny part is that I pay less then the other students. They have to have room mates, community bath, and no kitchen or cable TV. They pay $700 a month were I only pay $580. What a sweet deal. Oh and I am right across the football stadium for WVU football games. But I think they know me way to well since the fire department is right across the street and the hospital is next door. (I am known to have accidentally set a few fires at my old schools and have visited the ER on a regular basses. lol)

Congrats Dan, hope it's hottie happy hunting ground. :bolt:

Nobody ever makes it big overnight... and anyone who tells you you can is a liar. I don't know and actor or dancer that hasn't waitressed or tended bar or done a thousand other odd jobs to make ends meet.

It takes patience and persverence to be successful actor (it also helps if you're a bit of a masocist who loves rejection )... Don't get me wrong it's absolutely wonderful and rewarding profession it just takes a life time of hard work to make it big. :) :hearts:

He did seem overeager when asking for a cheque. They are a legitimate company, but I think they are more interested in the younger set. Nowadays if you haven't made it by the age of 14 it seems you will struggle.

The good thing is it made me realise how much I want this hair course to work. One can always try get in bts. There is one student already who is driven to do this.

It is a difficult industry to get into. One has to really want it. I did think of stage acting. At the same time though, I am not a particularly energetic person. I have to pump myself up with multivitamins to make it through each day.

One has to know one's limitations. If I had come back to the States earlier, yes, then it would have been worth sleeping on the pavement for etc.

But, to finish what you started, that is the important thing. The only thing about acting is there is lots of money. There is also much sacrifice. Hollywood tends to keep with the same faces. Brad Pitt replaces Robert Redford and James Dean. Sometime soon they will find a new face to replace Brad, etc. They would be pretty hard pressed to replace him though, especially with all the humour he so easily portrays.

BTW 'Inglourious Basterds' was glorious. I covered my face a couple of time. It is also an eye opener in just how depraved humanity can become. What a terrible reality, that on this one tiny planet in the middle of nowhere, in the midst of all this abundance, so few will ever share.

Well one of my majors is High performance welding and fab. So I deal with fire all the time. And welding spot fires are a common occurance. Reminds me of a story from wayyyy back when i actually had a full time job.

One of the guys in the factory was doing some welding in the back of a minibus. He had big sheets of cardboard around the area where he was working to stop hot bits of slag from burning the interior of the bus.
Everyone was going about their buisness, when we hear someone scream out "FUCK!"

We look over and the back of the bus was on fire. Something hot must have landed on the cardboard and up it went. Everyone ran over, fire extinguishers came out, bits of ash were flying around.. And from that point on, he called on me to help him when he's welding something big and stand guard with a water bottle spray thing to make sure it didn't happen again.

It OK. The only fire that was started in the dorm room (by me) was when one of my roommates got shit face drunk. So I took the electrical wires off a old broken alarm and plug it into the wall and stood over top of him touching the wires together so he would think I was about to electrocute him and scare the shit out of him. But instead the sparks lit the bed on fire. Lucky we had a jug of water near by to put out the fire because he was so drunk, he didn't even move.

Yayyy I passed my practical exam and written exam. The instructor sprang a surprise on us. We were tested on a barbering packet as well. We scarcely touched on that as we are not really concentrating on barbering. Oh, well, I can retake that aspect on Fri. Most of the questions I actually got right somoehow, so I will just need to redo a portion.

Now for two months of nails and esthetics, which, I am told, is quite hard.

And the fun just keeps on coming. He he.

In my first year at High School I started a fire on the grass behind one of the main buildings. Accidentally, of course. Nearly burnt down Lion's Head mountain and the school.

Just thought I'd let y'all know.

Congrates!! I hope you do well for the next two months. I'm sure you will. And that brings up memories of my freshmen year of high school shop class. We had to make these model rubber band airplane. One of the things we had to do was cover the frame of the plane with this tissue paper type stuff and spray it with water so it will shrink as it dries. This had to be done a few times. Well a few of us got board and decided to use hair spry instead of water. Again I'll let you use your imagination of what happen next.

We learnt yesterday in Oregon law - which goes on and on and on and - that Thou SHalt Not SMoke When Having A Chemical Service. It is imperative to ask a customer to sign a waiver if they are daft enough to want to go out and smoke after their hair has been sprayed, or after is it permed.

Yes. But make sure to point the can up at a 15 to 30 degree angle and use one of those long neck lighters if you can. That way your hand is protected from the over spay. And wear clothing that is made of 100% cotton. That is very important.

LOL, now worries Kat.

In golf a birdie means playing a hole one stroke under par. Par is the number of strokes it should take to play a given hole in regulation. Scores under are good, scores over par are bad... Golf is the only sport I can think of where the lowest score wins (it also the only sport where competitors call penalties on themselves).

Birdie = one stroke under par.
Eagle = Two Strokes under par.
Albatross or Double Eagle = Three under par it's the rarest of all birds.
Ace = Hole in one.
Bogey, Double Bogey, etc. = One, two, etc. strokes over par.

HTH. :)
