Hey Everyone,

I’m such a slut... :icon_redf :icon_gigg I invited Rita and Dana over for lunch yesterday; we were planning on just sort of hanging out and enjoying the sun and the pool... But between the extra large pepperoni and mushroom pizza, a couple bottles of wine, the warm weather, and talking about life, love & sex... Well it was after my field trip to New York City and I didn't get much sleep the days before. I think as you get older, you need less sleep. I used to sleep in until 2, but now I can't sleep in past 1 (I know, big difference there :p).

I'm the same way. I usually get about 6 hours average (during the school year), but then I sleep for like 12 hours on the weekend. It's summer now, so I normally get about 11 hours, but because of my crazy summer courses, it's like I'm back in school. I don't get to sleep in until August 19th :(.

My courses at the Boston Architectural College end tomorrow then there's a reception from 6-8PM. After that, all our work's going to be in the gallery until August 20th (hey, if you live in Massachusetts, check it out. It's on the corner of Newbury and Hereford :).) Then I'm off to Jamaica for a week. Then I'm back to help out a summer thing at my church for a week. Then glorious sleep before I embark on my college visits. Busy busy summer.

I have a question for all the Americans on the forum (sorry to single everyone else out, but its a question that doesn't concern non-Americans, lol).

The rate of minimum wage is about $5.15/hour, right? Well, in the next three years, it will be changed to $7.25/hour. What are your thoughts on this?

(I would also request, but not require, the responders to put down about how much they make.....if they feel comfortable. I'll put down mine, so you don't feel too weird. Both my jobs pay virtually $8.00/hour)

Personally, I am not for this increase.

I've gotten up around 5pm too. I think it might've been after a hike. Actually, I think the longest I've slept (that I can recall) is about 13 hours.I've slept for some crazy time like that too.. Yes and no? Over a year ago there were rumours about a "list" and anyone who was under Adminsource (such as yours truly) was on said list. It was taking so long that it looked like they weren't going to touch the remaining few from the Adminsource staff, but I guess they finally got around to us.

Maybe the universe decided I needed a change because I sure as heck wasn't going to leave my job voluntarily. And I liked my job too, you know? Well, the people and politics are always questionable, but I liked what I did.

I've always thought the the MW should be higher. I may not think about the things behind it, I think about the people who are trying to live on $5.15 an hour. True Stacia, but I'm worried about how that will affect everything else. Such as: inflation, cost of living, other peoples' salaries, etc.

I mean, one of the two jobs is weekend custodian for college dorms. Except for that job, all the jobs that a student can get on the campus pays MW. Now that "janitor job" will increase with MW, because if it doesn't....well....no one wants be on their knees cleaning puke up at 7am saturday morning, when they can get a less......"hazardous" job with better hour times ;)

Now my "people" job, they'll raise that only $1 because they're assholes, lol. (Sorry if I offended anyone with the language.....but its true)

The rate of minimum wage is about $5.15/hour, right? Well, in the next three years, it will be changed to $7.25/hour. What are your thoughts on this?
