I'm bored. I feel like this thread's been really slow lately. Anyways, I'll tell you all a ridiculous story about my day. I went to Wal-Mart to buy some Tylenol Cold, and apparently there's this new thing where you have to take a plastic card that has a picture of the product and bring it to the pharmacy (for certain medicines at least). So I take the card over to the pharmacy, and the lady asks me for a photo ID. I show her my license, and she goes over to talk to an associate. She comes back, and she tells me "I hate to do this to you... but I can't sell it to you" because I'm not 18 yet. What the fuck. Since when do you have to be 18 to buy cold medicine?? I mean, I understand the age limit on cigarettes, porn, piercings, and voting... but cold medicine?? Seriously??One of the key ingredients Tylenol Cold and many other over the counter cold medicines is Pseudoephedrine... Pseudoephedrine is used in the production of Methamphetamine so most stores are restricting sales of products that contain Pseudoephedrine.

I can't believe they wouldn't let you buy any cold medicine because you are not 18 yet. That is so unfair. That is just horrible. :icon_yike I guess they want you to be more ill without the medicine, those cold hearted bastards. When I bought some cold medicine in a grocery store a while ago I did have to bring one of those dumb plastic cards to the check out stand, but they never asked for ID. I thought people were not suppose to ask for your ID, you just bring the card up there, get your medicine, and then you're out the door. I guess they have a new and really stupid rule now so they can even make it more harder for people. Or maybe that is just WalMart's rule. That store is crazy enough as it is and it is just like them for doing soemthing like that. Try calling around a few grocery stores to see if an ID is required to buy cold medicine. Hope this helps. Sorry about what happened Ange, I hope you feel better. :)

Just think: in a month, I won't have to deal with this crap anymore.

The weird thing was there were other Tylenol products like severe congestion and sinus for sale that didn't require the little plastic card. It just happened that the one I wanted wasn't available :icon_evil .

Oh man! I came home this morning, only to be greeted by one of these on my door:
http://www.cirrusimage.com/Mantids/mantis_11.jpg

Yes, a Praying Mantis (not to be confused with Andrew Matis) was waiting for me! It was pretty big, probably as long as my hand. Of course it scared the hell outta me, and I let out a little scream. But, he meant me no harm (it was actually kinda cute). So, I slowly opened my door, went inside and closed it. Maybe he'll get bored with my door and move on lol. I keep wanting to get up to see if he's still out there. lol

It sucks that stores have to do things like this but any idiot with a knowledge of high school chemistry and a death wish can set a lab and start cooking meth pretty quickly.

Tighty Whitees!!!!!!!!!!:icon_biggLOL! You'd like that wouldn't you? :icon_lol: :icon_roll No, not quite those.

Shit.....back in that prison (what I call that dorm I lived in), I would have kicked AT LEAST five asses a night, and at least ten on weekends, from all the times I got woken up from stupid loud people. Well, i can sleep through noise if the need be.
I think the only time i've actually been woken up by something loud, it was my brother who did it. I got an old car air horn off my grandfather which i was going to put on my car. My brother got hold of it, connected the trumpets to a foot pump and stood in my doorway at like 7:30 in the morning.
He then stamped on the pump. I don't think i've ever woken up as quick as i did then.

My preferred anti-virus, anti-spyware and personal firewall software aren't compatible with Windows Vista and won't run on the BETA. The UI is such a radical change from Windows XP that it took me a half hour to configure my wireless LAN, something I could do in five minutes under XP or in about 3 on Mac.

Microsoft seems to be trying to make Windows Vista more "Mac like" but I think they’ve missed the mark in a big way... Instead of making things easier they’ve made them more complex. Suffices to say I'm not impressed.

Ew.
Preying Mantis are the creepiest looking things. The females, after sex with the males, bite the the heads off the males before the poor insect bastard can even finish getting his end out. What a horrifying image, headless hideous insect still pumping away, having no awareness that it's dead & still fucking! Translate this to a Stephen King short story with humans & you got the stuff of great horror literature & nightmares!

Last night, while watching television in our bedroom, my SO and I were startled by a horrible hissing/chirping sound coming from... somewhere. Sounded like a cricket only ten times LOUDER, faster & more frightening, building to a monstrous crescendo. I knew it was some nightmare species of large arthropod that got into our room through a small space where our AC is mounted in the window. All we could do was wait for it to make its appearance, and hopefully not in a crawling way on our faces in the darkness as we slumbered. Finally, I saw it. No less than 3" full inches long (seriously) and GREEN, crawling along the wall high up near the ceiling, it looked like something out of the bible that was sent to plague the Pharaohs of Egypt & slaughter their 1st born. Must have been a kind of locust, or katydid, and as I remembered the screaming, screeching sound of horror it made earlier, and wondered what type of HUGE chewing, EATING maw that could make a sound like that, I climbed up on a chair & disposed of it with a crushing blow from a DVD jewel box. Sorry for any Buddhists or bug lovers lurking in the forum reading this and shaking their heads at my callousness at handling the situation, but there was just NO WAY I was going to tenderly capture & cup that monster in my hands, open a window and release it, shouting, "Fly, grasshopper, fly!"

This is an absolutely true story with little hyperbole. I think I have insect fear.

~SOS~

A little of both...

Suffices to say I'm not impressed.Ah yes. Vista is the new one that's taking over from XP.
Well if it's how you say it is, i sure hope i don't have to upgrade to it..
30 mins? Jeez. They should just leave it how it is. People don't like radical change like that.. If only they understood..
"Microsoft! You are NOT Apple! Forget about it!"

What anti-virus software do you use?

What anti-virus software do you use?F-Secure Internet Security 2006 at home and F-Secure Anti-Virus Client Security at work. (I'm also BETA Testing FSIS 2007).

I just did a fresh install of Windows Vista... I didn't nearly as long to setup my wireless LAN this time around. :icon_roll :icon_lol:

~SOS~Exactly. You don't know what you're dealing with. It could be some type of demon spawn for all we know.. :icon_roll

Not really... this thing was way too heavily armored to leave a distasteful smear of the primary bug kill yuck colors - brown, green, & yellow. It fell to the floor, mostly intact except for leaving a single, spindly green limb a'dangling on the wall where I first whacked it. I whacked it a couple more times as it thrashed on the carpet below before dropping it in the waste paperbasket. This is risky since it could back to haunt us as it crawled out of the wastepaper basket, now horribly maimed with little missing locust limbs, and made its painful journey to our bed to exact revenge with one final stinging, tearing, rending of our face-flesh before giving up the ghost & dying on our pillow. And even then there's no guarantee that it won't come back to haunt us, literally this time, in ghost-bug form, as we hear its eerie wailing chirps in the dead of night, its restless spirit seeking... seeking something that it will never find because its body wasn't properly laid to rest in hallowed ground... or a good flushing down the old commode, which is the traditional final resting place of giant invader bugs & arachnids like this.

Thanks for asking.

Don't you just hate those assault class bugs.. Needs to be hit at least 4 times before it's stunned. Then you have to kill it..
I tend to opt for the Flush method of disposal. The number of bugs i've flushed over time, mainly cockroaches, and at one time some giant moths.
That way, if it is still alive and can hold it's breath for god knows how long, it's someone else's problem.

Have I ever told you that you're an excellent writer? I love reading your posts; they're like little stories. And bugs are gross. They all deserve to die. I actually have this really useful bug killing thing. It's like a tennis racket, but instead of strings, it's metal wires and when you hold down a button, electricity runs across the wires so you can just swat at a bug and it'll electrocute it. I'm bored Stacia.......and I'm in a fun mood. Sooooooooo, I hijacked your questions for Sandra :D

Good morning, my Darling ;)

1. If you could speak any foreign language fluently, which one would you choose? I've wanted to and thought it would be cool to learn Hmong. (I didn't mistype that word either)

2. What if you woke up tomorrow morning, and you were a man? What's the first thing you would do? .......Can I even answer this question without sounding like an ass?

3. Wanna guess what I did last night? Sure......ummm......you did school work?

4. What kinds of things do you plan on doing on your vacation? Well, unlike Sandra, my vacation will be in November. And I will be getting drunk on a topless beach.

5. Will you celebrate your b-day with your family before or after your trip? My B-Day is in December.

6. How do you feel about turning 25? Well.....when I hit 20.....nothing. 25.....probably nothing.

7. Wanna guess what your Babe did for her 25th b-day? Did you.......have a girl orgy? (Sorry.....but did you?)

8. Have you ever been attracted to a girl who was not pretty at all, yet something about her was irresistable? If so, what was irresistable about her? Yes, her personality is what it was.

9. Okay, so you said a while ago that you'd marry me. When can we set a date? :D I did? Was I blitzed, because I don't remember this? Well......I guess it could be today. Want to? ;)

10. Speaking of dates, would you ever go out on a date with me? (being serious here) Sure, why not?

11. Continuing our airport scneario...okay, so you said that the person knocking on your car window may be someone who wants to join us. It's actually Sophie Moone, and we discover she has a second job as a security officer at the airport (LOL). Do you want to be alone with me, or should we invite her into your car? I'll let this guy do the talking for me:banana:

12. What's the best thing about staying in hotels? Clean sheets and nice showers.

13. And the worst? I suffer from huge paranoia, so I always think I'm on camera because of the smoke detectors lights that are blinking.

14. Have you had that cheeseburger you've been craving? No......I keep forgeting the cheese after I take it off the George Foreman Grill :(

15. When's the last time you went to the grocery store at midnight? Well, I just went tonight (this morning) at 2am. Does that count?

That's all for now, my love.
TTYL!

S. :D

No, but I like how that sounds. You just gave my ego a little orgasm. Thanks. :icon_lol: *lights up a cig* Nah, just kidding,. I don't smoke. I don't post nearly as much as I'd like to, due to convoluted reasons that I won't get into. But thanks for the nice words.

They provide hours and hours of fun. I've killed so many wasps, spiders, silverfish, and every other imaginable insect out there. One time my brother and I got bored so we just decided to shock ourselves with it.Ah yes, i've done that. You don't really think it will be strong, but it is and you surprise yourself. There was a spot i zapped myself that really hurt, i think it was on a knuckle.. Not too sure.

I'll break things up and steal Stacia's questions too.

1. If you could speak any foreign language fluently, which one would you choose? Does Pig Latin count? Hattay ouldway ebay oolcay. Igpay Atinlay. Ollay. (figure that last one out :D)

2. What if you woke up tomorrow morning, and you were a man? What's the first thing you would do? Well, as an ACTUAL man, there's a few things which come to mind.
1. Burp
2. Fart
3. Scratch yourself

3. Wanna guess what I did last night? Um, you did something?

4. What kinds of things do you plan on doing on your vacation? I'm going on vacation?

5. Will you celebrate your b-day with your family before or after your trip? My b'day's already been, so yes. I celebrated with my family.

6. How do you feel about turning 25? I'll tell you when i turn 25.

7. Wanna guess what your Babe did for her 25th b-day? Um, did you turn 25? It seems like the most logical thing to do..

8. Have you ever been attracted to a girl who was not pretty at all, yet something about her was irresistable? If so, what was irresistable about her? No. Not yet.

9. Okay, so you said a while ago that you'd marry me. When can we set a date? :D Oh jeez! Not again.. What have i done?!

10. Speaking of dates, would you ever go out on a date with me? (being serious here) If you really wanna take little ol' me out on a date, i'd let you.

11. Continuing our airport scneario...okay, so you said that the person knocking on your car window may be someone who wants to join us. It's actually Sophie Moone, and we discover she has a second job as a security officer at the airport (LOL). Do you want to be alone with me, or should we invite her into your car? I dunno. But i'll hide in the bushes and watch the action unfold.

12. What's the best thing about staying in hotels? The buffet table.

13. And the worst? Not sure.

14. Have you had that cheeseburger you've been craving? Well i wasn't 'craving' a cheeseburger, but i did have one last week.

15. When's the last time you went to the grocery store at midnight? Never. Ours aren't open that late. If anything, it's a quick shop in the convenience store of your local petrol station. Plus, that's what mum's for. :p

Here Stacia, i've returned your questions with some slight modifications. No harm done.

A girl? Love? I want to hear about this, Trish.

Today was incredibly boring. I had to help the yearbook staff sell business ads for about 2 hours, then I went shopping for school supplies (freakin' binders were $5.36 :icon_evil ), and I went clothes shopping only to come home empty handed :(. I'm just going to spend my night watching Fear Factor and some new show on Fox. I know; my life is really exciting.

I was actually toying with the idea of posting a senerio (okay a direct look into my life with this girl) and seeing what advice you guys could come up with, but I decided against it. I'll send you a PM maybe tomorrow if that's alright? She's calling me tomorrow with what she claims is her final decision... but we've been down this road before... many times before! So, look out for an update tomorrow evening.

Well, at least you still had an eventful day. I used to love shopping for school supplies, but I really never used them much for school LOL. I was always using my graph paper for writing LOL. I went to Grande And Toy over the weekend as they had a sale on sketchbooks. I use those to jot down ideas on each story I write. I snapped up 9 of them. I cleaned them out!

If I don't see you for the rest of the night, have a great day at school tomorrow, Ange!

Ok everyone, I thought you all might find this a bit funny. I know I did.

So its about 2am here (7 hours to first day of 2nd year college....and counting) and I'm taking a online Tarot reading (because thats what I do for fun ;) ). I chose the "Two Paths" reading. That reading tells you two endings and the way it takes to get there.

For instence, to get to one ending, something must occur. Well, the last card dealt is what will be the critical thing that decides fate. So there are five cards total. 2 endings first, then a card for each path to the ending, and the deciding card that chooses your fate (to join everything together).

Well, I skip down to the end of the cards to the "Fate" card because thats were everything begins....right? Well, when I get there what is the card? The Mother-:icon_censing "Death" card!!!!!

First thing that popped in my head.........."Shit, thats sucks. Death is going to decide my fate? Game Over Man, Game Over."

LOL.....

Hi Trish! I started classes about a week ago. This is my 4th year in college and it seems like it ain't getting any better. I thought college was suppose to be really fun and you meet a lot of great people, but unfortunately it is not like this here. The people that I did know already graduated. That happened to me once and I swore that I will never be that in love with a girl again that I know would never be able to love me back. So I hope you are okay and I hope someday that this girl will come around and feel the same way you do. :icon_hug:

I was doing okay, but I've been stressing since Friday when I did see her. We went a month (ok 5 weeks - yes I was counting lol) without talking, then she phoned me at work yesterday, now she is claiming she'll call me with a final decision, when I get home this afternoon. Women! :icon_lol: Well I swore all the way up to heaven and down to hell that I wouldn't allow myself to completely fall in love with someone... but evidently the universe has other plans for me. But, I'm holding up pretty well I'd say. Thanks, Dara! :icon_hug:

yeah, how was it ange, all's well?

Okay, so I started senior year today. To put it simply, it was hell. First of all, when I got my schedule fixed two weeks ago, none of it was saved into the system, so my first three classes were all messed up and they didn't have me on their attendance list. It was extremely awkward because I didn't have an official print out of my schedule, so the teachers probably thought I was in the wrong class. Anyways, I went to my guidance counselor to get it all fixed, and then we found some other problems with scheduling and class sizes. So the entire day I was just stressed out about my schedule, but I think it's alright now... I hope.

Homework is insane. I have something to do for every class. The AP classes are intense and there's so much reading already. Ahhh.

On a more positive note, I was able to see a lot of friends aaaand I have two classes with the girl I have a crush on :icon_bigg . And I was able to see my favorite teacher and just catch up with her. So the day ended pretty well. Now it's time for homework.

Hey Tam...Yep, but unfortunately it is not my last year. I have one more year left because my major, animal science-veterinary medicine is a hard major and it usually takes 5 years for people to finish. That sucks! I go to Fresno State University in California because they have a really good animal science program, but what I didn't know is the lack of personalities on that campus. I try talking to people, but they act like zombies and it seems like they don't want to meet new friends. I feel isolated I guess. :icon_frow

So, yeah that's 3 knives to the heart. But to make you feel better sometimes the straight ones do like to go in that direction. Aww... Poor baby, it could be worse... you could be editing a 24 page employee newsletter for the most mind numbingly boring company on earth... getting hit by a Hummer was more fun than working on this thing. :icon_roll

XOXO;

MaggieMy god! That's a pretty strong statement..
That bad is it? :icon_roll :icon_lol:

I'm still flexible to this day. I won some money last year at work by putting my foot behind my head while standing. :icon_lol: Thank you for the money come again.:icon_bigg I'm the one you don't want to play truth or dare with.:icon_peac

I bet you can.:bowdown::icon_yike:icon_yike
I can attempt to do that while sitting down (then i can lick my balls like a dog, hee hee) but putting your foot behind your head while standing up?!
That would hurt me, i'm sure of it. :icon_yes:

Oh now come on, do you really think i can lick my own balls? Of course not.

And I don't think there is one bi or lesbian girl on that campus. It's kind of depressing but I'll get over it. I should have went to school in San Francisco where all the action is.

oh baby, i'm sure there are some, you just need to sniff them out. ;)And once you've sniffed them out, you can eat them out. ;)
