Reading the VivThomas blog I came across this preview for "Sex With Sandra" a 'greatest hits' compilation of VT Sandra scenes. Looks pretty good, I might buy it.

I don't know if theres just low demand for this kind of thing in my neck of the woods or if VivThomas doesn't ship out to the US but I finally ran across this DVD out of pure luck. Visiting home when I whipped into the new porn shop by my old college (why the hell wasn't that place there when I was in school?) And there it was! Sex with Sandra Shine front and center in 'manager's picks' section. The girl behind the counter told me it was really good, so long as you like all-sex girl-girl features (I do) and made a few suggestions for Sandra's other films... which impressed me. Where I'm from, most of the people in porn shops are borderline antisocial, rather than cheeful, helpful and full of product-knowledge. But I digress...

My thoughts on the movie:

Movie is absolutely awesome. Sandra truly "shines" in each of the peformances they included on the title and they included some of the most incredible girls she has worked with.

Typical of V/T, there is a clear focus on production value: clean focus, clear lighting, and color balance that really makes those flesh tones pop. Aside from one solo masturbation scene, it is an all lesbian feature.

What you'll see:
As I said, there is one scene with Sandra masturbating solo, but that really isn't the focus of this compilation. Each scene features extensive foreplay, kissing, and fondling interlaced with closeups on everybody's favorite body parts and passionate face shots.

Very little time is spent in these scenes before getting to the primary focus of each short: a study of oral sex. For the most part, they focus on romantic and passionate kisses with a lot of well-framed close ups of this sort of cunilingus. Sandra et. al. put on a great show and do well to convey the idea of 'drinking' from one another's body - very sexy.

If you like dildos, don't dispair. There are a few scenes featuring short bits of dildo play. One looks to be a tiny vibrator, while the other is of the more traditional variety. This really isn't the point of the movie, so these scenes are a bit short lived.

For fans of anal sex, you do get to see a little bit of ass licking and fingering in the very last scene. It's not very vivid and altogether disappointing to fans of this genre, but again, thats not what this movie is about.

All in all, I'd give it a 4.5 out of 5 and a big hats off to Sandra, all the ladies she worked with, and the VivThomas production studio.

The work in the video is great.
This is like a Sandra Shine Viv Thomas best of DVD.

It kind of leaves a bad taste in my mouth when I think of how
they can put out, market and sell this DVD featuring Sandra as
the star..and Sandra probably doesn't get much of anything in
return.

I'm sure that the exposure is nice....but like most producers..I don't think that Viv pays the models anything extra when these best of DVDs
are released and turn out to be pretty good sellers..mostly based
on Sandra's beauty being the feature attraction on the DVD boxcover etc.

.....but that's how things go in the business with producers and
performers.

The recycling of content is one thing....but when the model's name
is in the title..and she is the main selling point for the DVD.....come
on...help a girl out...cut a check..or two. ;)

Your probably right. I'm sure each model is required to sign over exclusive rights of the footage to the studio. Perhaps the fortunate few get some royalty clause in there. Once it's signed over, it becomes the intellectual property of the studio to do whatever they please.

This sort of thing happens in music all the time. Paul Mccartney of Beatles fame once gave Michael Jackson advice that he should buy the rights to music - the idea was that he could profit off of it. Well, Jackson took the advice and bought a bunch of Beatles songs. Mccartney flipped when Jackson licensed Revolution over to Pepsi for a TV ad campaign!

Dirty business goes on in all industries - and I imagine the exploitation might be above average in the skin biz.
